When the school was first formed in 1991 the founder, Dr Manaklao, knew that it was vitally important to provide the students with physiotherapy. Due to the shortage of funds available to employ a physiotherapist, a sporting curriculum was developed as an alternative to physiotherapy to build up strength, flexibility and stamina in the students' limbs.

The founder and the instructor had struck gold! Through sports, the children got their daily dose of exercise without realising it, because they were having so much fun. It became mandatory for all students to take part in the physical education lessons, for 1 hour in the morning and evening. This regime is followed to this day.
